This page governs your access to and use of the RockMap platform, including the RockMap mobile application, website, map, community features, content, tools, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”).

The Service is operated by RockMap App Ltd., United Kingdom (“RockMap”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By accessing, browsing, downloading, registering for, or otherwise using RockMap, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by this page, including the Support section, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. SUPPORT

1.1 Support Contact

If you require help using RockMap, have a question about your account, wish to report a bug, request assistance with data rights, or notify us about content concerns, you may contact our support team at:

RockMap will make commercially reasonable efforts to review and respond to support requests within a reasonable timeframe. Response times may vary depending on volume, complexity, technical dependencies, holidays, and legal review needs.

1.2 Scope of Support

Support may be requested in relation to, among other things:

  • account access issues;
  • password or login problems;
  • deletion requests;
  • privacy or personal data rights requests;
  • technical issues or service interruptions;
  • bug reports;
  • content removal requests;
  • intellectual property or copyright notices;
  • reports of abusive or unlawful content;
  • general questions concerning the Service.

1.3 No Guaranteed Resolution Time

While RockMap aims to offer reliable support, we do not guarantee immediate support availability, uninterrupted support coverage, or resolution within a specific timeframe. Some requests may require technical investigation, provider coordination, legal review, or verification of identity and entitlement before action can be taken.

1.4 Support Limitations

RockMap does not undertake any obligation to provide bespoke legal, technical, business, reputational, commercial, promotional, or moderation consulting to users, artists, venues, brands, or third parties. Support is limited to the reasonable administration and operation of the Service.

2. PRIVACY POLICY

2.1 Introduction

RockMap respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal data responsibly and in accordance with applicable law.

This Privacy Policy explains how RockMap App Ltd. collects, uses, stores, shares, protects, and otherwise processes personal data in connection with the Service.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information may be processed as described in this Privacy Policy.

2.2 Who We Are

2.3 Eligibility and Age Restrictions

RockMap is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The Service is intended only for users who are at least 18 years of age, or such higher age as may be required under the laws of the country from which the Service is accessed.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding agreements.

If RockMap becomes aware that personal data has been submitted by a person below the permitted age, RockMap may remove such data, suspend the relevant account, and take any other action deemed appropriate.

2.4 Categories of Data We May Collect

Depending on how you use RockMap, we may collect and process the following categories of data:

a. Account Data

This may include:

  • your email address;
  • username or display name;
  • password credentials in protected form;
  • profile information;
  • optional profile photo;
  • optional biography or descriptive profile content.

b. Usage Data

This may include:

  • interactions with the Service;
  • viewed pages, features, spots, artists, venues, and events;
  • search activity;
  • click activity;
  • session and navigation data;
  • app usage patterns.

c. Device and Technical Data

This may include:

  • device type;
  • operating system;
  • device language;
  • app version;
  • browser type;
  • IP address;
  • crash logs;
  • diagnostic data;
  • technical identifiers reasonably required to operate and secure the Service.

d. Location Data

If you grant permission, we may collect approximate or more precise location-related data to provide map-based discovery and nearby content functionality.

Location features may not work properly if permissions are denied.

e. User-Submitted Content

If you choose to contribute to RockMap, we may process content you upload, create, submit, or publish, including:

  • locations and “rock spots”;
  • venues;
  • artists;
  • event information;
  • descriptions;
  • comments;
  • text contributions;
  • images;
  • photographs;
  • reports and moderation notices.

f. Communications Data

If you contact support or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect the contents of your communication and any associated metadata reasonably necessary to respond, investigate, document, or resolve the matter.

2.5 How We Use Personal Data

We may use personal data for the following purposes:

  • to create, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • to authenticate users and maintain account security;
  • to provide map functionality and discovery features;
  • to display and organize community and editorial content;
  • to communicate with users about support, service changes, or important account matters;
  • to investigate abuse, fraud, suspicious behavior, security incidents, and policy violations;
  • to comply with legal obligations;
  • to enforce our Terms of Use;
  • to analyze performance, reliability, and product usage;
  • to develop new tools, features, and improvements.

2.6 Legal Bases for Processing

Where required by law, RockMap processes personal data on one or more of the following grounds:

  • performance of a contract with you;
  • compliance with legal obligations;
  • RockMap’s legitimate interests in operating, securing, maintaining, and improving the Service;
  • your consent, where consent is required.

2.7 Data Storage and Infrastructure

RockMap uses commercial cloud and infrastructure providers to host and operate the Service. This may include Amazon Web Services (AWS) and related service providers, processors, infrastructure partners, security providers, analytics providers, and operational vendors reasonably necessary for operation of the platform.

Data may be stored, processed, backed up, transferred, and secured using cloud-based infrastructure, content delivery, logging, and storage environments operated by such providers.

2.8 Data Security

RockMap implements reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, misuse, accidental loss, unlawful destruction, alteration, and disclosure.

These measures may include access controls, monitoring, logging, provider-level protections, environment separation, credential management, infrastructure security controls, and other industry-standard practices appropriate to the nature of the Service.

However, no system, network, application, or internet transmission is completely secure, and RockMap does not warrant or guarantee absolute security.

Users acknowledge and accept that the transmission of information over the internet always involves inherent risk.

2.9 Sharing of Data

RockMap does not sell personal data as a business model.

We may disclose or make data available in the following limited circumstances:

  • to infrastructure, hosting, storage, analytics, or support vendors acting on our behalf;
  • where reasonably necessary to operate the Service;
  • where required by law, court order, legal process, or regulatory request;
  • where necessary to investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our terms;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable safeguards.

2.10 Public and Community-Facing Content

Certain information or content that you choose to submit to the Service may be public or visible to other users or visitors. You should not submit information that you do not wish to be displayed, associated with your account, or otherwise made available through the Service.

RockMap cannot control how other users, search engines, scrapers, crawlers, archive services, or third parties may access, copy, screenshot, store, re-share, or otherwise use public-facing content.

2.11 Retention of Data

RockMap retains personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the Service;
  • maintain security and fraud prevention;
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations;
  • enforce agreements;
  • resolve disputes;
  • preserve evidence where necessary.

Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the data, the purpose for which it is processed, legal requirements, backup cycles, and legitimate operational needs.

2.12 Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights including:

  • the right to be informed;
  • the right of access;
  • the right to rectification;
  • the right to erasure;
  • the right to restrict processing;
  • the right to data portability;
  • the right to object, in certain cases.

RockMap may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We may also decline or limit requests where legally permitted, including where requests are manifestly unfounded, excessive, technically infeasible, would adversely affect the rights of others, or where retention is legally required.

2.13 Deletion Requests

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting support@rockmap.app or through any account deletion tools made available in the Service.

Deletion requests will be handled within a reasonable timeframe, subject to identity verification, technical realities, backup schedules, legal obligations, fraud prevention needs, dispute preservation, and rights of third parties.

Deletion of personal data from active systems does not necessarily mean immediate deletion from all backups, logs, caches, or archival environments. Such copies may persist temporarily until normal deletion, rotation, overwrite, or retention cycles complete.

2.14 International Transfers

By using the Service, you understand that data may be processed in countries other than your country of residence, including where our infrastructure providers, processors, contractors, or operational partners maintain systems or personnel.

Where applicable, RockMap will rely on legally recognized transfer mechanisms and reasonable safeguards.

2.15 Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with or depend upon third-party services, software development kits, infrastructure providers, app stores, analytics providers, mapping tools, authentication solutions, email providers, or related service vendors.

RockMap is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services except to the extent required by applicable law for our own processing activities.

2.16 Changes to This Privacy Policy

RockMap may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, to the extent permitted by law.

3. TERMS OF USE

3.1 Nature of the Service

RockMap is a cultural discovery platform centered on the global rock music scene. The Service may include content, references, information, map entries, community features, editorial material, user submissions, place pages, venue pages, artist pages, event pages, and other materials relating to music, culture, nightlife, tourism, history, geography, and rock-related communities.

RockMap is a platform for discovery, visibility, curation, community participation, and informational access. It is not a guarantee, verification authority, booking platform, legal registry, factual certification body, reputation guarantor, or endorsement mechanism.

3.2 No Representation of Third Parties

The presence of any artist, band, venue, brand, event, festival, city, place, company, promoter, manager, shop, studio, community, person, or other third party on RockMap does not imply that RockMap is affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, partnered with, approved by, or officially connected to such third party, unless RockMap explicitly states otherwise in writing.

All third-party names, brands, trademarks, logos, titles, and identifiers remain the property of their respective owners.

3.3 Editorial and Informational Nature

aRockMap may display content and references for informational, editorial, community, documentary, cultural, historical, navigational, descriptive, and discovery purposes.

The inclusion of names, references, biographies, place descriptions, event listings, cultural mentions, scenes, lineups, genres, photographs, venue listings, cities, neighborhoods, and related material is intended to facilitate discovery of the rock ecosystem and not to assert endorsement, accuracy in every instance, or ownership of third-party material.

3.4 Eligibility

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and over only. By using RockMap, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and capable of entering into binding legal agreements.

RockMap may suspend, limit, or terminate access where it reasonably believes a user does not meet the age requirement.

3.5 User Accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for:

  • maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials;
  • restricting access to your account and devices;
  • ensuring that your account information remains accurate;
  • all activities occurring under your account, whether authorized by you or not, unless applicable law provides otherwise.

RockMap may refuse registration, reclaim usernames, suspend accounts, restrict features, or terminate accounts at its sole discretion where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, operational integrity, or policy enforcement.

3.6 User Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • upload unlawful, defamatory, infringing, hateful, violent, abusive, misleading, fraudulent, or harmful material;
  • harass, stalk, threaten, impersonate, dox, exploit, or endanger any person;
  • submit content you do not own or do not have rights to use;
  • violate privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, database, or other rights;
  • interfere with, disrupt, overload, damage, disable, or impair the Service;
  • bypass, defeat, or test security systems without authorization;
  • scrape, spider, harvest, bulk copy, data mine, mirror, or extract content or data at scale;
  • exploit the Service for unauthorized commercial use;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, networks, or data;
  • use bots, automation, scripts, or abusive activity that distorts the Service.

3.7 User-Generated Content

RockMap may permit users to upload, submit, publish, edit, suggest, or otherwise contribute content, including but not limited to text, images, comments, photographs, descriptions, venue entries, event entries, artist entries, tags, reports, and other materials (“User Content”).

You remain responsible for your User Content.

By submitting User Content, you represent and warrant that:

  • you own it, or have all necessary rights, permissions, licenses, and consents to submit and authorize its use;
  • it does not infringe third-party rights;
  • it is not unlawful, deceptive, abusive, or otherwise prohibited;
  • its submission and our use of it as permitted by these Terms will not violate any law, contract, or right.

3.8 License Granted to RockMap

By submitting User Content, you grant RockMap App Ltd. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, format, adapt, modify for technical purposes, publish, display, distribute, index, promote, and otherwise use such User Content in connection with the operation, improvement, marketing, moderation, and development of the Service.

This license is granted for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes of operating and administering the Service, subject to your applicable rights and our retention obligations.

3.9 Moderation Rights

RockMap reserves the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, review, flag, restrict, remove, edit, reclassify, refuse, depublish, or disable access to any content, account, interaction, or submission at any time and for any reason, including where RockMap believes, in its sole discretion, that such content or behavior:

  • violates these Terms;
  • may expose RockMap or others to liability;
  • infringes rights;
  • is harmful, misleading, inaccurate, abusive, spammy, irrelevant, or otherwise undesirable;
  • undermines the quality, reliability, or integrity of the platform.

RockMap is under no obligation to preserve, restore, or continue hosting any content.

3.10 Third-Party Content and Accuracy Disclaimer

The Service may contain content from users, artists, venues, brands, public sources, editorial research, third-party providers, community suggestions, or automated processes.

RockMap does not verify every statement, image, place, claim, date, credit, address, lineup, opening hour, venue condition, legal status, ownership status, event change, cancellation, age restriction, route, availability, or factual assertion displayed in the Service.

Information may be incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, changed, duplicated, reinterpreted, disputed, or removed without notice.

You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for independently verifying any information before relying on it, traveling to a location, attending an event, contacting a third party, publishing a claim, entering a venue, spending money, making decisions, or otherwise acting on information obtained through RockMap.

3.11 Venues, Events, Places and “Rock Spots”

RockMap may display places, venues, event pages, neighborhood references, artist associations, historical references, points of interest, businesses, murals, stores, bars, clubs, rehearsal rooms, landmarks, studios, and other “spots”.

These are provided as an informational and discovery layer only.

RockMap does not warrant that:

  • any spot exists at the time you view it;
  • any location is open, accessible, safe, legal, or suitable;
  • any event will occur as shown;
  • any artist is affiliated with a listed venue or event;
  • any image accurately reflects the current state of a place;
  • any listing is official, authorized, verified, or complete.

RockMap assumes no responsibility for closures, changes, cancellations, relocation, safety conditions, crowd behavior, venue policies, inaccurate listings, third-party conduct, ticketing matters, transport issues, or outcomes associated with visiting or engaging with any spot.

3.12 Interactions Between Users and Third Parties

RockMap may enable users to discover and interact with artists, venues, businesses, brands, communities, or other users. However, RockMap is not a party to, and assumes no responsibility for, any interaction, communication, dispute, collaboration, agreement, meeting, transaction, performance, booking, conflict, or other relationship arising between:

  • users and users;
  • users and artists;
  • users and venues;
  • users and event organizers;
  • users and brands;
  • users and any third party.

Any such interaction is entirely at your own risk.

You alone are responsible for your decisions, conduct, safety, communications, expectations, and any consequences arising from third-party interactions connected to the Service.

3.13 No Duty to Investigate or Protect

RockMap does not undertake any duty to monitor users comprehensively, investigate every claim, verify identities, pre-screen venues, guarantee reputations, background-check participants, or ensure the safety, legality, honesty, quality, or conduct of any user or third party.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RockMap disclaims liability arising from acts, omissions, negligence, misconduct, fraud, harassment, violence, misrepresentation, or other conduct of users or third parties.

3.14 Images, Photographs and Media

Images, photographs, logos, posters, graphics, and media displayed on the Service may originate from:

  • users;
  • artists or venues;
  • public submissions;
  • editorial sources;
  • licensed or permissioned materials;
  • promotional materials;
  • publicly available internet sources where believed appropriate for editorial or referential use.

RockMap does not claim ownership over third-party images, names, logos, likenesses, or media merely because they appear on the Service.

Where content is displayed for editorial, descriptive, referential, historical, documentary, or cultural discovery purposes, such display is not intended to imply ownership, endorsement, or official relationship.

3.15 Notice and Takedown

If you believe that content on RockMap infringes your copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other rights, you may send a notice to:

Your notice should include, at minimum:

  • identification of the work or right claimed to be infringed;
  • identification of the content complained of;
  • the location or link where the content appears;
  • your basis for claiming ownership or control;
  • your contact information;
  • any supporting evidence reasonably necessary for review.

RockMap may, at its discretion and without admitting liability, remove, restrict, or disable access to the complained-of content while it reviews the matter, or after review, where appropriate.

RockMap may also request additional information, proof of authority, identity verification, or legal documentation before taking action.

3.16 Intellectual Property of RockMap

Except for third-party content and User Content, the Service and its elements, including software, code, structure, design, branding, names, logos, visual identity, arrangement, map presentation, copy, databases, and other materials developed by or for RockMap, are owned by or licensed to RockMap App Ltd. and are protected by applicable laws.

You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service for its intended personal or internal business discovery purposes, subject to these Terms.

No rights are granted except as expressly stated.

3.17 Prohibited Commercial Reuse and Scraping

You may not reproduce, republish, sell, license, lease, scrape, copy, syndicate, mirror, crawl, archive, export, data mine, or otherwise exploit the Service, its data, listings, or content for commercial purposes without RockMap’s prior written consent.

RockMap reserves all rights to protect its platform, content organization, database structure, user-contributed environment, and commercial interests.

3.18 Availability and Changes

RockMap may change, update, suspend, limit, remove, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, including features, content categories, pages, availability by region, moderation standards, mapping layers, user tools, or submission functionality.

RockMap makes no guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, current, or error-free.

3.19 Beta Features and Experimental Functionality

From time to time RockMap may introduce beta, test, pilot, experimental, limited, or early-access features. Such features may be incomplete, unstable, modified without notice, or removed entirely, and are provided without warranties of any kind.

3.20 Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as is”, “as available”, and “with all faults” basis.

RockMap disclaims all warranties, representations, and guarantees, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, or availability.

Without limiting the foregoing, RockMap does not warrant that:

  • the Service will meet your requirements or expectations;
  • the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free;
  • content will be accurate, verified, complete, current, or reliable;
  • spots, venues, or events will correspond to reality or remain unchanged;
  • the Service will be free from bugs, harmful code, outages, or data loss;
  • interactions with third parties will be safe, lawful, respectful, satisfactory, or successful.

3.21 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RockMap App Ltd., its officers, directors, shareholders, contractors, employees, advisors, licensors, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, exemplary, reputational, or economic damages, including any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, business opportunity, audience, contracts, savings, or anticipated benefit, arising out of or in connection with:

  • access to or use of the Service;
  • inability to access or use the Service;
  • reliance on any content, listing, map entry, event, image, review, or reference;
  • conduct, acts, omissions, or statements of users or third parties;
  • disputes between users and third parties;
  • venue closures, event changes, event cancellations, or safety issues;
  • content removals, moderation actions, or account restrictions;
  • alleged inaccuracies, defamation, infringement, or misidentification;
  • outages, bugs, service interruptions, malware, unauthorized access, or data incidents.

To the extent any liability cannot lawfully be excluded, RockMap’s aggregate liability shall be limited to the greater of:
(a) the amount paid by you, if any, to RockMap in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
(b) GBP £100.

3.22 Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RockMap App Ltd., its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers from and against any claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, penalties, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or relating to:

  • your use of the Service;
  • your User Content;
  • your breach of these Terms;
  • your violation of any law or third-party rights;
  • your interactions with other users or third parties;
  • any allegation that content you submitted infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights.

3.23 Suspension and Termination

RockMap may suspend, restrict, disable, or terminate your account or access to the Service at any time, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice, where RockMap believes such action is appropriate for legal, security, integrity, moderation, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, operational, reputational, or commercial reasons.

Termination does not affect rights or obligations accrued before termination, nor provisions that by their nature should survive.

3.24 Survival

The following sections survive suspension or termination to the extent applicable: intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, dispute-related provisions, takedown rights, retained licenses, and any other provisions that by nature are intended to survive.

3.25 Governing Law

These Terms, and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

3.26 Jurisdiction

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

3.27 Severability

If any provision of this page is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severed and the remainder shall remain in full force and effect.

3.28 No Waiver

Any failure by RockMap to enforce any provision shall not operate as a waiver of that provision or any other right.

3.29 Entire Agreement

This page constitutes the entire agreement between you and RockMap App Ltd. regarding the Service, except where additional terms expressly apply to specific features, promotions, or services.

3.30 Changes to These Terms

RockMap may revise this page from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.

Your continued access to or use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised version, to the extent permitted by law.
